History

  • 1969 - Refinery operations began with 50,000 bbl/day capacity
  • 1973 - Capacity increased to 110,000 bbl/day
  • 1976 - Capacity increased to 190,000 bbl/day
  • 1986 - Fluid catalytic cracking unit commissioned
  • 1989 - Light naphtha isomerization unit completed
  • 1994 - Distillate Dewaxing Unit completed
  • 1996 - Finished gasoline & diesel desulfurization equipment
  • 2004 - Finished gasoline hydrogenation refining unit (Low-sulfur gasoline facility completed)
  • 2009 - Continuous catalytic regenerative catalytic reformer commissioned
  • 2015 - Shell agrees to sell Showa to Idemitsu
