Description
- The Vankor oil & gas field is the biggest field to have been discovered and brought into production in Russia in the last 25 years.

History
- 1988 - The Vankor Field was discovered
- 2005 - SNC-Lavalin was been awarded a contract for concept validation and front-end engineering and design (FEED)
- 2009 - Commercial production at the Vankor field began

- Oil from the field is transported through the Rosneft-owned Vankor Purpe Oil Pipeline to the Transneft-owned trunk pipeline's tie-in point in the village of Purpe
- Oil is then transported to the West and also to the East via the Eastern Siberia Pacific Ocean Oil Pipeline
