There are more than 190 deposits of natural gas, oil, coal and gas condensate within Uzbekistan constituting the reserve base. Total reserves amount to an estimated 2.1 to 5.7 billion toe.
Natural gas forms the largest reserve base, with proven reserves amounting to 1.8 to 2 trillion cubic meters.
In terms of production, Uzbekistan is the second largest gas producer within the CIS, while share in world output is 2.3 to 2.5 percent.
