Crude Supply

  • It receives crude feedstock via pipeline from Canada and by tanker from Alaska and foreign sources.
  • It is currently receiving a very small amount of oil from the Bakken. Tesoro plans to increase this to 30,000 barrels per day following an investment in rail transportation capabilities

Products Produced

  • gasoline, jet fuel and diesel, liquefied petroleum gas and asphalt

Ongoing Projects

  • A naphtha isomerization project, and a mixed xylenes project are under construction

Other Information

  • At approximately 12:30 a.m. Pacific time April 2nd, 2010, a fire occurred at the Tesoro Anacortes refinery. The incident was on a small section of the refinery following minor, routine maintenance.
  • The fire was contained at around 2 a.m
  • 7 people were killed in the incident.

History

  • 2010 - A heat exchanger in the refinery's Naphtha Hydrotreater unit ruptured, causing an explosion and fire that fatally injured seven employees
  • 2012 - Tesoro Corporation Closes the Sale of the Rail Unloading Facility to Tesoro Logistics
  • 2013 - Tesoro announces the construction of a new rail unloading terminal
  • 2014 - New Xylene project
