  • The Svalin field lies about six kilometres south-west of the Grane platform at a water depth of 125 metres.
  • The Svalin development will be tied back to the Grane platform. Svalin M will be produced by a well drilled from the Grane platform, while Svalin C will be a subsea development with a six-kilometre-long flowline to the Grane platform. The hydrocarbons will utilise shared processing and export facilities

  • There is oil and associated gas in Paleocene to Lower Eocene sandstones in the Heimdal and Balder Formations at a depth of approximately 1 750 metres. The sandstones are deposited as sub-marine fans.
