Introduction
The purpose of this Wiki is to build up a knowledge base of the sector so that I or anyone else can easily locate the information that they need. To this end, all contributions, comments and criticisms are welcome.
Refining
As my area of particular interest is refining, I have started collecting information on Oil Refineries. Over time however, I hope to add a lot more.
Pipelines
Similar to the Refineries database, I will also be developing an Oil Pipeline Database, with information on transnational and other major oil pipelines. Likewise, a Natural Gas Pipeline Database is being developed.
Upstream & LNG
Nothing if not ambitious, I am also adding an Oil and Gas Field Database and an LNG Terminal Database .
Sector Basics
There is also a Glossary of Upstream Terms and a Refining Glossary. An Introduction to Refining section, gives the basics of how refining works.
For those of you who want to know the difference between Brent & WTI, the Crude Oil Types page will be useful. There is also a section on Unconventional Oil and Gas Resources .
I am also starting to add a oil and gas company section, which will act as a directory and the basis for a search engine.
Also in the Works is an Investing in Oil and Gas section.
