The Project

  • Project Summary: The project will increase the capacity of the existing Sohar Refinery from 116,000 to 187,000 barrels per stream day by installing various clean fuels units, as well as increasing capacity and debottlenecking existing units in the refinery
  • Main Contractors: CB&I was awarded a contract for the front end engineering and design (FEED) and project management services
    • UOP/Foster Wheeler will provide Solvent Deasphalting (SDA) process technology
    • UOP/Foster Wheeler will provide a basic engineering design package for a solvent deasphalting (SDA) unit
    • Chevron Lummus Global licence for the Hydrocracking unit
    • Black and Veatch licence for the Sulphur Recovery unit
