History

• Saratov oil refinery, one of the oldest refineries in Russia, was established on April 27, 1934.
• The refinery was repeatedly upgraded in 1950s -1980s.
• The peak throughput of 10 million tons was delivered in the late 1980s.
• 2004 - Construction of a tar visbreaking section was completed
• In 2008, the throughput amounted to 6.5 million tons of crude.
• Upon an upgrade in 2009, the refinery is capable of processing 7 million tons of crude a year.
• 2010 - Euro III fuels production started
• 2012 - Upgrade and revamping project completed
