    • CB&I: Construction of the storage tanks
    • Freyssinet: Pre-stressing for LNG tanks
  • Licensor: Shell's liquefaction process DMR (Dual Mixed Refrigerant) process is used in this project

History

  • 2000 - Fluor awarded a contract to provide engineering services for the preparation of a project specification and TEOC documentation (Russian permitting documents)
  • 2000 - Shell acquired Marathon's stake in the project
  • 2003 - EPC contract awarded
  • 2007 - Gazprom becomes a major partner
  • 2007 - Osaka Gas signed the Heads of Agreement (HOA) for the purchase of LNG from Sakhalin II
  • 2008 - JBIC Signs Loan Agreement for US$3.7 billion for the Project
  • 2009 - Dmitry Medvedev, Russian President opened the terminal
  • 2013 - Design process started for 3rd train
  • 2014 - Cumulative production reached 50 million tons
  • 2015 - 1000th cargo sold
