  • 2011 - Sabine Pass Liquefaction, received authorization from the U.S. Department of Energy ("DOE") to export natural gas from the Sabine Pass LNG terminal
  • 2011 - Project announcement made by Louisiana Governor
  • 2011 - Cheniere Partners Enters into Lump Sum Turnkey Contract with Bechtel
  • 2011 - Gas Natural Fenosa signs contract for approximately 3.5 million tonnes per annum
  • 2011 - GAIL India Sign 20-Year LNG Sale and Purchase Agreement
  • 2012 - BG Group reached agreement to purchase an additional 2 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) over a 20-year period
  • 2012 - Cheniere and KOGAS Sign 20-Year LNG Sale and Purchase Agreement for 3.5 million tonnes per annum
  • 2012 - Blackstone Enters into an Arrangement for $2B Equity Investment for the Sabine Pass Liquefaction Project
  • 2012 - Approval granted by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC)

Other Information

  • If completed as planned, it will be the first LNG export terminal in the USA, outside of Alaska
