- The terminal is currently an import terminal, for details see Sabine Pass LNG Terminal
- However due to the surplus of natural gas in the USA, the terminal is to be expanded to add export capabilities.
- The project is expected to be completed in 2015
- Project cost is budgeted at $6 Billion
- The terminal will utilise ConocoPhillips Optimized Cascade® technology
- Bechtel: will design, construct and commission four liquefaction trains
- GE Oil & Gas: Supply of gas compression trains
