    • CPC Corporation, Taiwan, has a contract to purchase 1.2 million tons of LNG annually

    • Unipec Asia Company Limited, (a subsidiary of China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation (Sinopec). )
  • Suppliers
    • The Project proposes to commercialize natural gas from onshore gas fields as well as associated gas from crude oil fields.
    • Fields include Hides Gas Field
    • The gas is transported via a 750km pipeline to an area near Port Moresby where LNG liquefaction facilities are to be constructed.

  • 2008 - Nippon acquires the shares of AGL Energy
  • 2009 - The final investment decision on PNG LNG Project
  • 2009 - Saipem awarded pipeline contract
  • 2011 - Marubeni became a shareholder
  • 2013 - Project 90% completed
  • 2014 - Production started

Other Information

  • The PNG LNG Project will produce associated liquids which will be exported via the Kumul Marine terminal
  • JBIC supported the project with a loan of 1.8 billion US dollars
