Description
- Murchison is a mature waterflood straddling the Norwegian and U.K. sectors of the North Sea. The Field is approximately 150km northeast of Shetland and the platform stands in 156m of water
- The Murchison platform comprises topsides weighing 24,584te supported by an eight leg steel jacket with a 33 well slot capacity, weighing 24,640 tonnes (excluding piles).
- Oil is exported to the Dunlin platform and then onto Cormorant A and finally to Sullom Voe. Fuel gas is imported from a tie in into the NLGP network.
- The Playfair field to the north of Murchison produces back to the Murchison Platform via an extended reach well
