- 1920s - Original Refinery Built
- 1928 - Refinery purchased by Globe Oil & Refining Co and expanded to 38,000 bbl/day
- 1954 - Refinery acquired by Pure Oil Co.; crude capacity expanded to 53,000 bbl/day
- 1970 - Refinery expanded to over 100,000 bbl/day
- 1997 - Becomes 100% subsidiary of PDVSA
- 2010 - Diesel Desulphurisation unit commissioned
