Crude Supply

Products Produced

  • The Lake Charles Refinery produces a high percentage of transportation fuels, such as gasoline and jet fuel, along with home heating oil.
  • It also produces graphite petroleum coke for the steel industry
  • Through the Excel Paralubes joint venture, the refinery produces base oils for lubricants

History

  • 1941 - Refinery commissioned with the original capability to process 7,500 barrels of crude oil per day
  • 1996 - Construction was completed on the $750 million dollar Excel Paralubes Hydrocracker, a joint venture between ConocoPhillips and Flint Hills Resources
  • 2003 - Fluor Selected by ConocoPhillips for Installation Of New Clean-Fuels Technology
  • 2006 - Awarded ENERGY STAR certification
