Description
- The Kupe Field, located in PML38146 in the offshore Taranaki Basin, New Zealand, is a gas-condensate filled reservoir in the Farewell Formation.
- Kupe is made up of an offshore platform with three production wells, a 30km raw gas pipeline running from the platform to the shore, an onshore production station near Hawera, and light crude storage and export facilities near Port Taranaki in New Plymouth.
History
- 1986 - The Kupe field was discovered by New Zealand Oil & Gas
- 2004 - Worley Awarded KUPE FEED
- 2006 - Final Investment Decision made
- 2010 - The Prime Minister of New Zealand, John Key, officially opened the Kupe Gas Project
