The Project

• Project Type: Upgrade and expansion
• Project Summary: Rosneft is currently implementing a large-scale expansion and upgrade project at Komsomolsk refinery, which is scheduled to run through 2013 and is primarily aimed at:
  • increasing the refinery’s capacity to 8 mln tonnes (59 mln barrels)
  • increasing refining depth to 95%
  • launching production of high-quality Euro-4 and Euro-5 products
  • implementing process control and management systems meeting modern industrial safety and environmental standards
  • establishing mechanisms to adjust the volume and quality of petroleum products in accordance with market trends and seasonal fluctuations in demand

Crude Supply

• The refinery processes West Siberian Crude Oil, which is delivered via the Transneft pipeline and then by rail after reloading at the Uyar (near Krasnoyarsk) and Zuy (near Angarsk) rail junctions.
• Rosneft and Transneft have signed an agreement to jointly construct an offshoot of the Eastern Siberia – Pacific Ocean (ESPO) trunk pipeline to feed the refinery
