  • TOA OIL engages in contract refining on the basis of a crude oil contract refining agreement with Showa Shell Sekiyu K.K. Specifically, TOA OIL receives crude oil and feedstock from Showa Shell Sekiyu, processes them into various oil products, and delivers the finished products to Showa Shell Sekiyu

History

  • The Keihin Refinery began operation in 1955.
  • 1971 - Isomerization unit commissioned in the Mizue Factory
  • 1975 - Isomerization unit commissioned in the Ogimachi Factory
  • 1987 - LPG & Naphtha Sweetening Units commissioned
  • 1996 - Gasoil hydrotreatment unit commissioned
  • 1998 - Lube units commissioned
  • In 2000, Showa Shell Sekiyu K.K.'s Kawasaki Refinery (now the Ogimachi Factory) and TOA OIL's Kawasaki Refinery (now the Mizue Factory) began combined operations as the Keihin Refinery.
  • 2010 - Decision taken to shut Ogimachi Factory in 2011
  • 2015 - Shell agrees to sell Showa to Idemitsu
