- 2004 - Representatives of Energy Projects Development LLC announced they would be seeking approval from state and federal regulators to construct and operate a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal
- 2009 - Pacific Connector Gas Pipeline, LP and Jordan Cove Energy Project, LP Receive FERC Approval
- 2011 - Application made for export licence
- 2011 - The U.S. Department of Energy granted a 30-year license for Jordan Cove Energy Project LP to export LNG by ship to a limited list of countries that hold free trade agreements with the United States
- 2011 - The Department of State Lands approved permit application
- 2012 - FERC revokes authorisation for imports
