- Project Summary: The Guru Gobind Singh Refinery will be a zero bottoms, energy efficient, environment- friendly, high distillate yielding complex refinery that will be producing clean fuels and polypropylene by processing heavy, sour and acidic crudes.

History
- 2005 - BP & HPCL sign agreement to build the refinery
- 2006 - BP leaves the project and is replaced by Mittal
- 2007 - the Punjab government put the long-delayed Guru Gobind Singh refinery project at Bhatinda back on track by signing a deed of assurance with the main contractor Hindustan Petroleum Corp Ltd (HPCL).
- 2007 - Financial closure reached on loan agreements for the project
- 2011 - The Bhatinda refinery, received its maiden crude cargo from Saudi Arabia at the Mundra port on March 31
- 2011 - Trial processing starts
- 2012 - Opening ceremony held
