  • Located in water depths of 1,350 metres, 150 kilometres offshore, Girassol was the largest deepwater development to be brought onstream in the world at the time
  • The subsea installations consist of 70 km of infield pipelines linked to three riser towers carrying production to a Floating Production Storage Offloading (FPSO) vessel. The FPSO, the largest of its type ever built, is capable of processing 200,000 barrels of oil per day and storing 2 million barrels
  • Production from the Rosa Oil Field and Jasmim oil field is tied back to the Girassol FPSO


  • KWsubsea: Design of a repair system for deep water pipelines
  • Phase 2
    • FMC: manufacture and supply of subsea production equipment
    • Technip: project management, engineering, fabrication and installation of umbilicals, interconnecting power cable, recovery and disposal of four rigid spools, installation of eight new flexible spools
    • Aker Solutions: Delivery of two dynamic power and control steel tube umbilicals, one dynamic power cable and ancillary equipment
