History

  • 1935 - Refinery operations commenced
  • 1979 - The two sites were fully integrated
  • 1983 - Veba Oel included the Horst and Scholven sites in the Ruhr Oel joint venture set up with PDVSA
  • 2002 - BP acquires Veba Oel, becoming a shareholder in the refinery
  • 2010 - Rosneft acquired PDVSA's share of Ruhr Oel, effectively becoming a 50% shareholder in the refinery
