Description
- Foinaven is located some 190 kilometres to the north west of Orkney, mainly in UK block 204/24a
- Foinaven phase 1 is based on Golar-Nor's Floating Production Storage and Offtake (FPSO) vessel "Petrojarl Foinaven FPSO"
- The East Foinaven Oil and Gas Field has been developed as a subsea tie-back to the main Foinaven Field
- Gas is exported via a 10 inch pipeline to the West of Shetlands Gas Pipeline System which transports gas to the Sullom Voe Terminal in the Shetland Islands

- Mcdermott: Detailed design engineering, procurement, installation, partial hook-up and commissioning of subsea systems - Flowlines, trees, manifolds, risers, FPSO topsides and turret
- GE Oil & Gas: Two initial engineering studies for future production enhancement
History
- 1994 - The Foinaven Oil Field development project was sanctioned
- 1997 - Foinaven produces first oil
- 2000 - Phase 1 development is completed
- 2000 - Marathon acquired Shell's stake
- 2001 - First oil from East Foinaven
- 2012 - Faroe Petroleum acquired a stake in East Foinaven
