Technical Details

History
- 1987 - Zeebrugge Lng Terminal is commissioned
- 2004 - EPC contract awarded for expansion project
- 2008 - Expansion project is completed
- 2011 - Launch of binding phase of market consultation for the 2nd capacity enhancement project
Ongoing Projects/Project Status
- The company is studying the possibility of further expansion of the terminal
- Expansion will involve
- Construction of a second jetty for berthing of LNG ships with a capacity from approximately 3 500 m³ LNG up to 217 000 m³ LNG, to be made available in 2014
- Construction of an additional storage tank with a capacity of 160 000 m³ LNG to be made available in 2016
- Construction of additional send-out capacity of 450 000 m³(n)/h to be made available in 2016
Customers
- The terminal is a tolling one, making its capacity available to 3rd parties
- Current customers include Qatar Petroleum/ExxonMobil, Distrigas, EDF and SUEZ LNG Trading
Other Information
- The Fluxys LNG terminal can handle LNG carriers of almost all different types and capacities:
- LNG carriers with a Length Over All of up to 350 m, a breadth of up to 55 m and a draft of up to 12 m; there is no limitation of airdraft,
- Membrane Technique Carriers, Moss Rosenberg Technique Carriers and the newest generation of LNG carriers; more than ten different types of LNG carriers have already unloaded LNG at the terminal,
- LNG carriers with a capacity of 40,000 m³ LNG to up to 135,000 m³ LNG or even above can be unloaded
- About 1,200 LNG carriers have docked at the terminal since commissioning of the facility in 1987
