History
- 2008 - Qatargas and Shell signed a Sales and Purchase Agreement to supply Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) to Dubai
- 2010 - The first cargo was delivered
Other Information
- The project consists of the floating storage regasification unit, which is permanently moored to the island berth; marine facilities, including mooring and breasting dolphins and a loading platform; a horizontally, directionally drilled, submarine pipeline linking the loading platform to an existing pipeline at the shoreline; and an onshore plot within Jebel Ali Port dedicated to supporting the LNG facility.
- Golar Freeze, an existing LNG ship, was chartered by DUSUP from Golar LNG Company and converted into a Floating Storage and Regasification Unit
