Crude Supply

  • Crude oil is received from Shell’s Gore Bay Terminal, which is located on ten hectares of land in Greenwich, via an 18 km 300 mm diameter pipeline.

  • Bitumen,
  • LPG

Ongoing Projects

  • Shell has announced its decision to stop refining operations at the Clyde Refinery and convert it and the Gore Bay Terminal into a fuel import facility before mid 2013

  • 1920s - Refinery commissioned
  • 1928 - Shell acquires the refinery
  • 2002 - An upgrade of the diesel desulphurization unit (HDS) was completed
  • 2005 - Clean Petrol Project completed with commissioning of benzene saturation unit
  • 2011 - Shell proposes to close the refinery
  • 2012 - Shell announces date for closure of refinery
