Description

  • Being developed together with the Harris Oil Field as one half of the Western Isles project
  • Development involves a subsea development of at least five production and four water injection wells plus two exploration wells tied back to a new build floating production, storage and offloading vessel (FPSO), the Western Isles FPSO, with oil export using shuttle tankers.

  • Sevan Marine: Technology Licence for the cylindrically shaped FPSO
  • Subsea 7: Engineering, procurement, construction and installation of two 2.5 kilometer pipeline bundles and a 11 kilometer gas export pipeline

History

  • 2012 - Dana Petroleum started the detailed engineering design phase for the project
  • 2012 - The Department of Energy and Climate Change has approved the development of the field
  • 2013 - Subsea 7 awarded pipeline contract
  • 2013 - Dana starts drilling operations
  • 2014 - Production wells tested & Export pipeline installed
