  • 1945 - The Soviets built the Atyrau refinery with a capacity 800,000 tones per year
  • 2005 - Modernisation by JGC Completed
  • 2007 - Completion of Gasoline Hydrotreating Unit, Diesel Fuel Hydrotreating Unit and Diesel Fuel Dewaxing Unit, Isomerization Unit, Sulphur Recovery Unit, Hydrogen Generating Unit
  • 2015 - First paraxylene produced
