Technical Details

  • Storage capacity: The Arun LNG plant has 5 storage tanks with a capacity of 127.200 cubic meters each
  • Constructor: Bechtel was the prime contractor for phase one
    • The expansion project was awarded to Chiyoda Chemical Engineering and Construction Co Ltd., in association with Mitsubishi Corporation and PT Purna Bina Indonesia
    • Train 6 was engineered and constructed by JGC Corporation
  • Licensor: Air Products

Ongoing Projects/Project Status

  • After 2014, Pertamina plans to convert the terminal into a receiving terminal once the natural gas reserves feeding the terminal are exhausted.

  • Suppliers: The gas comes from the following Exxon Operated areas:
    • Arun Field in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam Province
    • South Lhoksukon A and D,
    • The North Sumatra Offshore Gas Field

History

  • 1978 - The terminal operations began
  • 1983 - Train 4 came on-stream
  • 1984 - Train 5 came on-stream
  • 1986 - Train 6 came on-stream
