Description

  • The Agbami Field, lies 70 miles (113 km) off the coast of the central Niger Delta region and spans 45,000 acres (182 sq km)
  • Discovered in 1998, the Agbami Field is at a water depth of approximately 4,800 feet (1,463 m)
  • Agbami is a subsea development with wells tied back to a floating production, storage and offloading vessel
  • A 10-well development program is expected to provide crude oil production capacity to offset production decline. Drilling began in May 2010 and is expected to continue through 2014
  • The Agbami floating production, storage and offloading vessel is the world’s largest FPSO

History

  • 1998 - Abgami Oil Field discovered
  • 2001 - Appraisal drilling completed
  • 2005 - Contract for the construction of the Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel awarded to Daewoo Shipping and Marine Engineering (DSME) Corporation
